Vector GS Privacy Policy

Vector GS is a ground station app for high-power rocketry, published by Missile Works. This policy explains what the app does with information on your device. In short: Vector GS has no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not send your data to Missile Works.

Location

Vector GS uses your device's location to show where you are on the map, to draw distance rings around you, and to give the bearing and distance from you to your rocket. Your location is used on your device only. It is not sent to Missile Works or anyone else.

Map imagery

When your device is online, the map downloads imagery from Esri (World Imagery) or OpenStreetMap, depending on the map style you choose. As with any web map, those requests tell the map provider which area of the map is being displayed, along with your device's IP address. Their handling of that information is covered by their own privacy policies. With no internet connection, the app requests no map imagery.

Bluetooth and telemetry

Vector GS connects over Bluetooth to your telemetry receiver. The flight data it receives (such as your rocket's position, altitude and events) is processed and displayed on your device only.

Information stored on your device

The app keeps the following on your device: your settings, the receiver you connected to, your rocket's last known position (so you can still navigate to it after a restart), any recovery waypoint you set, an optional saved map image, and any flight recordings (KML files) you make. None of this leaves your device unless you choose to share it.

Sharing you choose to do

If you share a flight recording, or open your rocket's position in another maps app, the app hands that file or position to the app you pick. What happens next is governed by that app.

Children

Vector GS is not directed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
